Falme
The coastal stronghold where the Seanchan Empire first planted its flag in the Westlands.
Falme stands as a majestic yet tyrannical city-state on the coast of the Aryth Ocean, serving as the primary foothold for the Seanchan Empire's invasion of the Westlands in the late 900s NE. It is the site where the Seanchan first established their rule over the local population after crossing the ocean under High Lady Suroth and other commanders loyal to Empress Easar, transforming a once-independent city into the capital of their occupation forces.
The city is infamous as the location where Rand al'Thor confronted the Seanchan High Lady Suroth and her forces, leading to a pivotal battle that reshaped the political landscape of the continent. Unlike rumors suggest, it does not house a 'Great Library' containing knowledge seized from Tar Valon; the White Tower archives were never relocated there.

Lore & Background
Falme was originally a prosperous coastal city in the Westlands, strategically positioned near the border of Altara and Arad Doman. When the Seanchan fleet arrived from across the Aryth Ocean in the late 900s NE under High Lady Suroth and other commanders serving the current Empress, they chose Falme as their first major settlement. The city was quickly subjugated and reorganized into a model of Seanchan efficiency, with its original inhabitants either enslaved, integrated as blood-pure citizens, or displaced.
The city became the administrative heart of the Seanchan occupation in the Westlands. It is here that the damane, women who can channel the One Power, are captured and collared by sul'dam to serve as living weapons for the Empire, a practice enforced through the rigid hierarchy of the sul'dam themselves. Contrary to popular misconception, no Great Library was established within its white stone walls; the Seanchan did not seize Tar Valon's archives or relocate them here.
Falme's significance reached a climax when Rand al'Thor arrived with his army to challenge the Seanchan presence. The city became the stage for a massive confrontation involving Aes Sedai, Seanchan forces, and the Dragon Reborn himself, resulting in the destruction of the Seanchan fleet and the temporary expulsion of their high command from the city.
In Their Own Story
The salt wind carried the scent of brine and iron as the gates of Falme creaked open. Inside the courtyard, the air hummed with a tension that had nothing to do with the sea breeze. Sul'dam moved in practiced silence among the collared women, their eyes fixed on the ground, while the distant roar of the ocean seemed to mock the stillness of the city's heart.
High above, the banners of the Seanchan snapped in the wind, a stark contrast to the shattered remnants of the fleet that had once dominated the harbor. The Great Library stood silent, its shelves heavy with stolen wisdom, unaware that the Dragon Reborn was already walking through the streets, his shadow stretching long and dark against the white stone walls.
Reader's Guide
Falme is the premier Seanchan city in the Westlands, located on a peninsula jutting into the Aryth Ocean. It serves as the administrative center for the Empire's occupation forces and the primary hub for their military operations in the region. The city is heavily fortified and strictly controlled; entry is forbidden to outsiders without proper clearance from the High Lord or Empress. Visitors should expect white stone architecture, rigid discipline, and the constant presence of sul'dam watching over their damane.
