Eye of the World
The last uncorrupted spring of male Power, hidden in the heart of the Blight to save the world when all else failed.
Hidden beneath the crushing weight of the Great Blight lies the Eye of the World, a sanctuary where the True Source remains untouched by the Dark One's corruption. Unlike the tainted saidin that drives men to madness, this ancient wellspring offers a pristine connection to the Power—a relic from before the Breaking, preserved in silence and stone.

Lore & Background
Forged during the desperate closing days of the Age of Legends, a circle of channelers under Lews Therin Telamon's command wove this reservoir. They trapped the male half of the One Power into a singular sphere within a cavern deep in the Blight, intending it as a final failsafe—a weapon to be unleashed only if the Shadow consumed all hope. When the Dark One tainted saidin during the Breaking, this specific pocket remained sealed away, immune to the madness that destroyed civilization.
In Their Own Story
The air inside the cavern tasted of ozone and ancient dust, heavy with a silence that felt louder than any scream. Rand stood before the great sphere, feeling the hum of it vibrate through his bones, a frequency that resonated with something deep within his own blood. Around him, the shadows of the Blight seemed to recoil from the light radiating from the stone, and for a moment, he could feel the Dark One's grip on his mind loosen, replaced by a terrifying clarity. He reached out, not with his hand, but with his will, and the pure, blinding torrent of saidin surged into him, washing away the poison that had festered since the Breaking.
Reader's Guide
Functioning as a colossal battery of uncorrupted male Power (saidin), the Eye allows channelers to draw infinite energy without risk of madness. It is not a gift, but a conduit; one must possess the ability to channel and physically stand within the cavern to access it. Rand al'Thor utilized this connection not just for raw strength, but as a lens to amplify his weaves beyond normal limits.
Its strategic purpose was twofold: to unleash a cataclysmic burst of light and heat against Shadowspawn hordes, and to serve as a cleansing agent that purged the taint from Rand's soul. Once expended in such an event, the reservoir stands empty—a monument used rather than hoarded.
